Commercial
Commercial design and documentation in Adelaide — offices, consulting rooms, fit-outs and front of house. Drawings and approvals for premises that have to keep operating.
Commercial Design & Documentation
A commercial fit-out or renovation should end with a workspace that is genuinely comfortable and efficient to run, not just a refreshed one. That starts with drawings that account for how the place actually gets used.
On commercial projects we work as designers and documenters: concepts, drawings, specifications and the approval path. Our building work contractor licence covers residential construction, so commercial building work is delivered by your builder — we document it, coordinate the consultants and can run the tender.
Working Around an Operating Business
We are used to working in and around sensitive spaces that include your clients and employees.
We have completed works in doctors’ offices, physiotherapists, pain management centres, call centres and churches, all whilst the businesses remained operational. That constraint shapes the design and the staging as much as the budget does.
What We Do
Fit-outs
New reception areas, bathrooms, open plan office space, front of house and commercial kitchens.
Renovations, additions and alterations
These projects tend to present special challenges — existing services, restricted access, staged handovers. If you have a small commercial property and want to add value, extending your premises can significantly increase your lettable area at a comparatively modest cost.
Office renovations
When you decide to change how your organisation’s spaces work, the question is usually how to redesign and rebuild without going past budget. We work with you first on a solution that is practical as well as good to look at, then document it to a standard your builder can price accurately rather than load with risk.
Consulting rooms and mixed use
Small commercial and mixed-use projects including offices, consulting rooms and hospitality spaces, with buildable plans addressing access, amenities and Building Code requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the work be staged while we stay open?
Yes, and we have designed around exactly that in clinical and customer-facing settings. Staging, hoarding, noise windows and out-of-hours access get planned into the documentation rather than improvised on site.
Do you build commercial projects as well?
No. Our building work contractor licence (BLD 299999) covers residential work, so on commercial projects we handle design, documentation, approvals and tender, and your builder carries out the construction.
Do you handle approvals for commercial work?
Yes. We prepare the documentation and reports, lodge the application, and deal with council or a private certifier on your behalf. Where a project needs external consultants, we obtain quotes and coordinate them.
Is there a minimum project size?
No. A good deal of our commercial work is small — a reception area, a bathroom upgrade, a consulting room conversion.
